There are a range of styles when choosing a leather briefcase. There is of course the traditional black leather hard executive briefcase which have a small suitcase type handle and often a key or number combination look.
You can also choose from a wide range of other styles including men's messenger and shoulder bags, tote briefcases, satchel style leather cases much like the old school bags. A majority of the leather cases available are in either black or shades of brown although if you wanted something that stands out a little more you can get almost any colour.
Leather is a great material for a case and has long been the preferred choice over other types of covering. It is a natural material that not only looks good but wears well with age, can protect its contents from the rain up to a degree and is quite resilient. The odd scratch and scuff can add character rather detract from the bag.
The range of leather varieties means that if you prefer a certain type of leather or colour you want you can usually get it. Some men want an Italian leather briefcase whilst others will not have this as their main priority when choosing a new case. The range of colours and shades go from black to dark brown, reds to an almost light orange tan Columbian Vacquetta leather. In my opinion some of the best briefcases for men are the designer leather satchel style cases. There certainly seems to be a greater range of fashionable and trendy bags available for men than there were a decade or so ago.
